Issue 1 1992 - 2004 Viper: Whenever a clutch or transmission repair is performed, please check for correct position of the crankshaft pilot bearing as specified in service manual. If the crankshaft pilot bearing is damaged or improperly secured in the crankshaft, the transmission input shaft will contact the I.D. of the clutch slave cylinder and fail the clutch release bearing. Issue 2 There is one Viper transmission part number that services all Vipers from 1992 to 2006 models, correct P/N is 05103065AE. and includes a vehicle speed sensor on the tail housing to make it compatible with all past model cars. 1992 to 2002 cars require a vehicle speed sensor. Sensor is plugged in to car wiring harness as necessary when replacement service transmission is installed. 2003 to 2006 cars do not require a vehicle speed sensor. Vehicle speed sensor on service transmission goes unused on these vehicles. The Pig tail for sensor connector should be taped back ______________________________________ Contact Us at CAGRIS@Chrysler.com for feedback related ONLY to this GPOP Tech Tip.
